Welltory tracks your heart rate, stress, sleep, and activity — but your body doesn't exist in a vacuum. What you eat, how your day went, whether you had a tough conversation or a good walk — all of this shapes how you feel. “Your take” is how you tell Welltory about that side of your life.

Just say it out loud

The fastest way to add context is to speak. Tap the microphone, say a few words about what was going on — and watch Welltory pick out the relevant tags in real time as you talk. You might say something like "had a really intense meeting and then grabbed a coffee" and see tags appear as the words leave your mouth. It's a little bit like magic, and it takes about ten seconds.

You can also type if you'd rather, or just tap from a list of suggested tags. But voice is where the experience really comes alive — and it's where Welltory can hear the most.

More than tags

Speaking out loud about your day does something beyond data capture. It's a small moment of reflection — a chance to notice what actually happened and how it might connect to how you're feeling. Over time, that habit builds into something useful: a record of your life that runs alongside your health data, in your own words.

Some people find themselves saying things they hadn't consciously registered until they opened the microphone. That's the point. You don't need to be thorough or precise. Just say what comes to mind.

Why context changes everything

Welltory can tell you that your stress spiked between 3 and 5 pm. But without your input, we're only seeing half the picture. Was it a meeting that ran long? A difficult conversation? Three coffees and no lunch? Subjective input bridges that gap.

Over time, patterns emerge. You might discover that conflict at work raises your stress more than a packed schedule does — or that a short walk helps you recover faster than lying on the couch. That kind of insight only becomes visible when your objective data has a story behind it. The more you share, the more Welltory can show you about yourself.

How it works

When Welltory detects a significant stress episode, “Your take” appears right below the insight on your Today screen. Tap it, speak for a few seconds or type a sentence or two, and Welltory will recognize the relevant tags from your words automatically. You can remove any tag that doesn't fit before saving.

Your take shows up in a few places in the app, so you can add context whenever it feels right.

On the Today screen. Below your daily widgets, Welltory surfaces insights about what's happening with your body right now. When a significant stress episode is detected, “Your take” appears directly beneath that insight — tap it and start speaking.

In the Sleep report. Open any sleep report in your Journal or Today screen, scroll down, and you'll see a Your take section. Tap it to add context about what happened before or during that night.

Your note gets saved alongside that moment in your journal, so you can always go back and see the full picture: what your body was doing and what was happening in your life at that time.

If you'd rather skip for now, just dismiss the card — there are no negative consequences for doing so.

Your tag collection

Every tag you add goes into your personal tag collection. Think of it as a growing library of the things that affect you — your triggers, your recovery habits, your patterns.

The collection gets more useful the more you use it. Tags that show up often rise to the top as suggested options. Over time, your suggestions start to feel like they actually know you, because they do.

A few tips to get the most out of it

Speak naturally — you don't need to name the tags. Just describe what happened and Welltory will figure out the rest.

If you're not sure what to say, start with where you were, who you were with, or what you were doing right before the episode. That's usually enough.

The more consistently you share context, the more meaningful your insights become. Even a few notes a week makes a difference over time.
