Getting started with Welltory

To get the most out of Welltory, it’s important to connect as many data sources as possible. The more we know about your health and lifestyle, the better we can personalize your insights and recommendations. This guide will help you hit the ground running and make the most of your first three days of the free trial.

To avoid duplicate data, make sure to connect your sources using only one available method — either through a data aggregator (like Apple Health, Google Fit, Health Connect, or Samsung Health) or by linking a source directly. If you connect the same source in more than one way, Welltory won’t be able to generate accurate reports due to data duplication.

We also recommend using Welltory on only one platform — either iOS or Android. If you sign in to the app with the same account on both platforms, your reports may be inaccurate as well.

For iOS users

Sign-up and onboarding

Choose the sign-up method that works best for you: Apple ID, email, or Google account.

Be sure to remember how you signed up — if you lose access to your email or forget how you registered, we won’t be able to help you recover your account. Helpful article: How to log in to Welltory if I can't remember my login information or I don't have access to my email.

If you’ve already signed up on our website and created an account, all you need to do at this point is log in to the app using your existing credentials. Here’s how:

  • Open Welltory and, on the Sign-up screen, tap Continue with Email.

  • At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see Already have an account? Tap Log in.

  • Select your preferred login method (Email and password, Apple ID, Google account, or Facebook), and sign in to the app again.

Next, go through the onboarding flow in the app. Here’s what to expect:

  • Watch a few short stories explaining how Welltory works and how it can benefit you.

  • Fill out basic personal info: gender, age, weight, height, and whether you use a fitness tracker.

  • Connect your primary data source — Apple Health.

  • Review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  • Choose whether or not to enable push notifications.

  • Take your first measurement using your phone’s camera or, if you wear an Apple Watch, view your health trends from the past month.

At the final step, you’ll be offered a Premium subscription. If you’re not ready, just tap the cross in the top right corner to skip it.

First steps in the app

After registration and onboarding, you’ll land in the app. We’ve written a separate guide on how to navigate the menu and customize Welltory on iPhone: How to navigate Welltory’s settings and customization menu on iPhone. Here’s what to do first:

1. Connect Apple Health if you didn’t do it during onboarding. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top left corner, go to MenuHealth. If you don’t see a Health section, you’re all set — it’s already connected.

Apple Health is your main data aggregator. Welltory uses it to collect most of the information about your well-being and activity. We analyze this data to build personalized reports and recommendations.

2. Connect your Apple Watch, if you have one. Go to MenuWATCH. Your Apple Watch will help you take HRV (Heart Rate Variability) readings — automatically or manually — and track sleep, workouts, and daily activity.

Please note that measurements may not be accurate if you’re under 18 or pregnant. This is because the body systems of individuals under 18 and pregnant women function differently, which makes our algorithm less reliable in these cases.

3. Connect other smart devices if you don’t use an Apple Watch. For example, Garmin, Oura, Polar, and others. These devices help track your daily activity but don’t support HRV measurements. In that case, you can still take manual HRV readings using your phone’s camera. More info: Is my device compatible with Welltory for HRV measurements and activity tracking?

We recommend connecting your smart devices through Apple Health. This helps ensure you’re not using multiple sources for the same type of data.

4. Connect additional data sources. This helps us generate more detailed reports, find patterns in your health data, and reflect how you’re really feeling. These sources include apps and gadgets that you can connect directly, via Apple Health, or through IFTTT.

To find and connect a source, go to MenuApps.

Want to give us a better picture of your lifestyle and potential health risks? Take our in-app Tests. You’ll find them at the top of the Menu, just below your profile picture.

These short tests cover topics like mental and physical health, productivity, and activity levels — all of which impact how you feel. Your reports help complete the picture of your overall health.

For Android users

Pick your preferred way to sign up: Google account, email, or Facebook.

Then, complete the onboarding steps in the app. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Enter your basic personal details: gender, age, weight, height, and whether you use a fitness tracker.

  • Connect your main data source — Google Fit, Health Connect, or Samsung Health.

  • Turn push notifications on or off.

  • Take your first reading using your phone’s camera or, if you wear a Samsung or Pixel Watch, see how you’ve been feeling over the past month.

At the final step, we’ll offer you a Premium plan. Not ready? Just tap the cross in the top left corner to skip.

First steps in the app

Once you’ve signed up and completed onboarding, you’ll land in the app. We’ve created a separate guide on how to navigate the app on Android: How to navigate Welltory’s settings and customization menu on Android. Here’s what you should do first:

1. Connect your data aggregator — Google Fit, Health Connect, or Samsung Health — if you didn’t do it during onboarding. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner, then go to Menu. You’ll see the section for your aggregator there. Tap to connect. If you don’t see it, that means it’s already connected.

You can also choose your aggregator in MenuSettingsApps to get data from.

It’s crucial to connect your aggregator. That’s where we get most of your data on well-being, activity, and sleep. We process it to create personalized insights and recommendations.

2. Connect your Samsung or Pixel Watch, if you have one. Go to MenuGalaxy Watch. Your watch will help you take HRV readings (either automatically or manually) and track sleep, workouts, and daily movement.

Please note that measurements may not be accurate if you’re under 18 or pregnant. This is because the body systems of individuals under 18 and pregnant women function differently, which makes our algorithm less reliable in these cases.

3. Connect other smart devices if you don’t use a Samsung or Pixel Watch. Devices like Garmin, Oura, and Polar can help track your daily activity. Keep in mind they don’t support HRV readings — for that, you’ll need to use your phone camera manually. More info: Is my device compatible with Welltory for HRV measurements and activity tracking?

We recommend connecting your smart devices through aggregators like Google Fit, Health Connect, or Samsung Health. Some devices may require third-party apps to do this, but it helps ensure you’re not using multiple sources for the same type of data.

4. Connect additional data sources. This will improve your personal reports, graphs, and the accuracy of our recommendations. You can connect apps and gadgets directly, via aggregators (Google Fit, Health Connect, or Samsung Health), or through IFTTT.

To find and connect a source, go to MenuApps.

Additional actions

Another great way to better understand your lifestyle and potential health risks is by taking our in-app Tests. You’ll find them in the top part of the Menu, just below your avatar.

These quick tests focus on your mental and physical health, productivity, activity levels, and more. Taking them helps complete the picture of your overall well-being.
