Welltory helps you keep track of your health by analyzing data from your devices and apps. The more data you connect, the more accurate your insights and recommendations — whether it’s about stress levels, sleep quality, or daily activity.
Welltory pulls data directly or through health aggregators like Apple Health, Google Fit, Health Connect, and Samsung Health. Aggregators make things easy by storing and syncing your heart rate, sleep, steps, and other metrics in one place.
Looking at data from different sources can reveal hidden patterns — like discovering that your energy boost comes not from coffee, but from how many steps you took the day before. In this article, we’ll walk you through which sources you can connect to Welltory.
Aggregators
The easiest way to send data to Welltory is through health aggregators like Apple Health on iOS or Google Fit, Health Connect, and Samsung Health on Android. These work like hubs — they collect data from various apps and devices (such as smartwatches, rings, or heart rate monitors) and pass it on to Welltory. Once the data reaches us, we process and analyze it to generate reports and personalized recommendations.
The types of data we receive depend on which apps and devices are connected to the aggregator. Most often, this includes activity, heart rate, sleep, breathing, and other similar metrics. One important note: Welltory isn’t a medical app, so we don’t collect any medical data.
You can connect four different aggregators to Welltory, depending on your phone’s operating system:
Apple Health. We receive all data types we’re able to process.
Google Fit. We receive all supported data types except menstruation, oxygen saturation, blood sugar, speed, and HRV.
Health Connect. We receive all data types we’re able to process.
Samsung Health. We receive all data types we’re able to process.
Aggregators are a great option if you already use multiple fitness apps or gadgets. They allow Welltory to gather as much information as possible — no complicated setup needed.
Please note that starting June 30, 2025, Google will no longer support direct app connections via Google Fit. Instead, Google is introducing Health Connect. It is a new platform designed for secure data sharing between your favorite apps.
To continue receiving health insights in Welltory, it’s essential to configure access settings in Health Connect and Google Fit for Welltory and any other health apps you use regularly. We’ve detailed the setup process in a separate article.
Direct connections
Some apps and devices can send data to Welltory directly, without going through an aggregator. This includes fitness and health tracking apps, smartwatches, and services that monitor sleep, heart rate, stress, and more.
A few apps and devices — like Garmin and Oura — can send data both through aggregators and directly to Welltory. However, we don’t recommend using both connection types at the same time, as this can lead to duplicate data.
The types of data Welltory receives directly depend on the app or device itself. Typically, it includes the same kinds of data as with aggregators — activity, heart rate, sleep, and breathing — as well as additional insights like temperature, air quality, productivity throughout the day, and even your daily movement patterns.

If your app isn’t on the list, chances are you can still share its data with Welltory through a health aggregator.
IFTTT
If you want to send data to Welltory that isn’t available through aggregators, you can use IFTTT — a service that connects apps using simple “if this, then that” logic. When a specific event happens in one app, IFTTT automatically triggers an action in another.
There are two ways to set up a connection: using a Connect button or an applet. The Connect button lets you link multiple actions from the same service, while an applet connects just one.
You can use IFTTT to set up custom connections with a wide range of apps and data types — from note-taking tools to task trackers.

Smart devices
Welltory supports a wide range of smart devices — including smartwatches, heart rate monitors, fitness trackers, and more.
To track both activity and heart rate variability (HRV), you can connect an Apple Watch, Samsung Watch, or Google Pixel Watch (series 2, 3, and later). Other smartwatches, fitness trackers, and smart rings can usually only track activity.
Sports heart rate monitors can’t track activity but can be used to measure HRV in Welltory — as long as they:
record raw RR intervals
transmit data via Bluetooth 4.0 (we don’t support ANT+)
Devices that only measure heart rate — or only use the ANT+ protocol — aren’t suitable for HRV tracking in Welltory.
For more details on which devices can track activity and which can measure HRV, check out our separate guide: Is my device compatible with Welltory for HRV measurements and activity tracking?
Welltory can also receive data from smart scales that sync via aggregators, such as Withings Smart Scales, Xiaomi Mi Smart Scale, Picooc, Garmin Index, and others.
We also support sleep and meditation data from devices like Muse Headband and smart beds such as Sleep Number Bed.
In addition, Welltory can pull data from environmental trackers:
Netatmo Weather Station. Provides information on air quality, temperature, indoor pollution, barometric pressure, and noise levels
AirPods track noise exposure.
UV Index Widget tracks UV levels.
