We've drawn up a list of sports devices you can use to measure heart rate variability in Welltory. Note that they are not medical devices, and the data provided by them is not intended to be utilized for medical purposes and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

The following sports chest straps are a good choice for heart rate variability measurements in Welltory:

The ones below are also fit for the purpose:

But we recommend Apple Watch and Samsung Watch as the most accurate devices compatible with Welltory and taking measurements automatically. The watch doesn’t require any action on your part to record your heart rate variability and allows Welltory to access this data.

Incompatible devices

Some devices can measure your heart rate (average number of heartbeats per minute), but not your heart rate variability (time lapsed between heartbeats). For this reason, they can’t be used for measurements in Welltory. They include:

  • Polar OH1

  • MyZone MZ-3

  • Scosche RHYTHM+

  • Wahoo TICKR Fit

Unfortunately, you can’t use most fitness trackers and smartwatches for Welltory measurements, either. Find out which ones and why here.

If your device is not on our lists, check out these compatibility requirements or send us a report — we’ll help you figure out if it can be used for heart rate variability measurements in Welltory:
